Save the Trail Petition

MTA Scoping Process

The Maryland Transit Administration
is conducting a
Scoping Process

for the Purple Line, also known as the "Bi-County Transitway"

The Purple Line is a proposed, but as yet undefined, transit route between Bethesda and New Carrollton.  There are a range of options that are being considered, including buses that would operate on existing streets and dedicated bus lanes.

Two of the options being considered include either buses or light rail along the Capital Crescent Trail between Bethesda and Silver Spring.

Public input is being gathered to help determine which options will be chosen, and whether this transitway will include  buses or light rail on the trail.

Please submit written comments!

Tell our State Transportation Officials:

Absolutely, No Trains or Buses on the Trail!
